ABOUT

CSDS Beginnings

Milo Baughman once took a personal interest in Cheryl while she was preparing a design thesis. Mr. Baughman taught at Brigham Young University at the time, and Cheryl was a student of the University of Southern Mississippi. Baughman's wink and nod provoked an envie (AKA a Cajun craving) in Cheryl to make design original, personal, and beautiful. Her mantra to this day is that design of any genre is beautiful if it translates as uniquely you; architecture and one's personal style characterize the tenor of an individual design.

Her hands-on approach was the initiative that led Cheryl back to the classroom at Louisiana State University, earning a Certification in Construction Management. Obtaining a CCM allowed her to further her abilities and credentials to represent clients on the job site.

Equally at ease designing a 1920's Iron Works restoration or a beachfront retreat, she stresses the significance of collaboration of architecture, interior forms and finishes, and the relationship between client and designer.

Building Relationships Through Design

Nailing down individual design is Cheryl's gift, and she successfully achieves this vision through her participation and cooperation from ground zero. Her reputation is that of putting her clients' best interests first, and her greatest fulfillment has come from designing gathering places for families and comrades to create memories: Skywalk Lodge, Fishtails, and Nope Prenup to name a few.

Cheryl lives in Cajun Country with two fluffy, four-legged associates named Boheme and Bourgeois. For both work and play, she travels routinely across the Gulf states, making interiors beautiful.
